about

A poetic representation of my thoughts’ living quarters:

Each line in this song represents specific details of my inner-world. "Cupboard space" is memories, "artwork I don't understand" is growing into someone that I don't know yet, "one glass window..." is my perception. “Night and day” in the song represent duality; they are a metaphor for how I process emotional extremes within a literal headspace.

The song describes the intimate location that I retreat to in order to process the world and seek balance.

lyrics

Inside my head I decorate
With tapestry and china plates
Two lamps with bulbs of different shades
One for the night, one for the day
A studio with cupboard space
600 squared inside my brain
Wooden floors in both hallways
One for the night, one for the day

Artwork I don't understand
A clock that ticks without hands
They're either covered or on display
One for the night, one for the day
A leather chair used and deployed
Only for the paranoid
On the walls two shadows sway
One for the night, one for the day
One for night one for day

To the back porch, a sliding door
Where time is made for the ignored
Though not forgotten, I deviate
Between two skies, the night and day
One glass window facing North
To view all things that I adore
But half the pane is tinted gray
One for the night, one for the day

One glass window facing North
So I may view all I adore
No curtains to encourage light
I follow them, the day and night
One for night one for day
One for night one for day

Sove The Second makes music for the overwhelmed, the deep feelers, and the overthinkers. She writes about entering other worlds on SSRIs, refusing to fall apart in your twenties, and eating Zots.

Combining rich instrumentation with folky riddles, Sove creates a poetic space that gestates curiosity. Her and her cello blend genres and apply classical concepts where they're not always considered.
